Barry Grant Carbs

Barry Grant Carbs

When you purchase one of the Barry Grant carbs, you get not only the experience of the craftsman who made it, but also the legacy of Barry Grant himself. Barry Grant fought his way through life and injury, racing as time and money would permit, modifying friends' carburetors whenever they would let him. Early on, he learned how much he loved the work; it always gave him a sense of achievement to clean up and rebuild a carburetor. Aided by a strong background in working with hydraulics and heavy machinery, Barry Grant eventually began building carburetors on his own. This business developed into the Barry Grant carbs we admire today.

Edelbrock Carburetors

Edelbrock Carburetors

Vic Edelbrock has a history just as incredible. He began developing early Edelbrock carburetors back in the days before the aftermarket, spearheading project after project on mechanical talent alone. From his youth, he had a knack for how things worked; over the years, he developed that ability until he eventually found himself racing cars out at the dry lakes in California. Friends were continually impressed by his wins, and eventually he found himself manufacturing carburetors. As Edelbrock carburators began setting records, they became more and more in demand. Soon enough, a full company was founded, employees were hired, and Edelbrock as we know it today was born.

Are Edelbrock Carburators Better?

There might be a natural instinct to say that Edelbrock, simply by virtue of being an older company, should get an edge over Barry Grant. However, that would be ruling out an excellent set of carburetors for no really good reason. In truth, it is almost impossible to say whether any given Barry Grant carburetor will outperform one of the Edelbrock carburetors; there are so many different specifications and customizations that can be made that a comparison would be difficult.

But one thing is clear: whether you choose a Barry Grant or one of the Edelbrock carburators, you're choosing a fine piece of machinery.
